Exhaust Fan Repair: Bearing Replacement Service

Exhaust systems run for hours on end, day after day — and over time, that constant workload takes its toll on the mechanical components that keep the fan spinning smoothly. This service call involved exactly that kind of wear: a Kruger-brand exhaust fan unit showing signs of bearing failure, a problem that if left unresolved can lead to excessive vibration, noise, or a complete fan breakdown.

Our technician got straight into the mechanical work — accessing the blower housing to reach the pillow block bearing assembly mounted on the fan shaft. The old NTN P207 bearings were carefully unbolted and removed for inspection, revealing visible wear and contamination that confirmed they were due for replacement.

With the housing opened up, the shaft and pulley were cleaned and prepped before the new bearing units were fitted and secured back into position. Every bolt was checked and tightened to ensure the assembly was seated correctly, since even a small misalignment here can shorten the lifespan of a replacement part significantly.
