Upgrading the System: Chilled Water Valve Replacement

Behind every reliable air-conditioning system is a network of pipework that most people never think about — until something goes wrong. In this job, our team carried out a valve replacement on the chilled water supply and return lines (CWS/CWR) connected to the chiller unit, an essential upgrade to keep the cooling system running at peak efficiency.

The old, worn strainer and valve fittings were removed and replaced with new ductile iron gate valves, clearly marked by their fresh blue coating and geared handwheel for smoother, more precise flow control. Pressure gauges installed along the line allow technicians to continuously monitor system pressure, helping catch irregularities before they become bigger problems.

Working as a team, our technicians carefully aligned and bolted the new valve assembly into place, checking flange connections and torque on every bolt to ensure a leak-free seal capable of handling continuous operation. Precision matters here — even a slightly misaligned flange can lead to pressure loss or premature wear down the line.

Once installed, the new valve gives facility operators better control over water flow to the chiller, supporting more efficient cooling, easier isolation during future maintenance, and a longer service life for the whole system.
